Parametrized measure models

چکیده
We develop a new and general notion of parametric measure models and statistical models on an arbitrary sample space Ω which does not assume that all measures of the model have the same null sets. This is given by a differentiable map from the parameter manifold M into the set of finite measures or probability measures on Ω, respectively, which is differentiable when regarded as a map into the Banach space of all signed measures on Ω. Furthermore, we also give a rigorous definition of roots of measures and give a natural characterization of the Fisher metric and the Amari-Chentsov tensor as the pullback of tensors defined on the space of roots of measures. We show that many features such as the preservation of this tensor under sufficient statistics and the monotonicity formula hold even in this very general set-up. MSC2010: 53C99, 62B05

Ramsey theorems parametrized by a measure∗
I show how Ramsey-type theorems can be naturally parametrized with a probability measure and prove several of the resulting statements.
متن کاملMax - Planck - Institut für Mathematik in den Naturwissenschaften Leipzig Information Geometry and Sufficient Statistics
Information geometry provides a geometric approach to families of statistical models. The key geometric structures are the Fisher quadratic form and the Amari-Chentsov tensor. In statistics, the notion of sufficient statistic expresses the criterion for passing from one model to another without loss of information. This leads to the question how the geometric structures behave under such suffic...
متن کاملOn the rank of certain parametrized elliptic curves
In this paper the family of elliptic curves over Q given by the equation Ep :Y2 = (X - p)3 + X3 + (X + p)3 where p is a prime number, is studied. Itis shown that the maximal rank of the elliptic curves is at most 3 and someconditions under which we have rank(Ep(Q)) = 0 or rank(Ep(Q)) = 1 orrank(Ep(Q))≥2 are given.
متن کاملMutual information aspects of scale space images
In image registration mutual information is a well-performing measure based on principles of uncertainty. Similarly, in image analysis the Gaussian scale space, based on minimal assumptions of the image, is used to derive intrinsic properties of an image. In this paper a combination of both methods is investigated. This results in a parametrized mutual information measure using local informatio...
متن کاملAsymptotics for Sparse Exponential Random Graph Models
We study the asymptotics for sparse exponential random graph models where the parameters may depend on the number of vertices of the graph. We obtain a variational principle for the limiting free energy, an associated concentration of measure, the asymptotics for the mean and variance of the limiting probability distribution, and phase transitions in the edge-triangle model. Similar analysis is...
متن کاملPeriodic Attractors versus Nonuniform Expansion in Singular Limits of Families of Rank One Maps
We analyze parametrized families of multimodal 1D maps that arise as singular limits of parametrized families of rank one maps. For a generic 1-parameter family of such maps that contains a Misiurewicz-like map, it has been shown that in a neighborhood of the Misiurewicz-like parameter, a subset of parameters of positive Lebesgue measure exhibits nonuniformly expanding dynamics characterized by...
